IV. Textures and Materials
Exotics: Head to toe croc ensembles and snakeskin panels in apparel, color and surface textures and embossed leathers in accessories.
Haircalf and Ponyhair: Head to toe looks in apparel, short-haired fur in accessories. The newness is in the combinations like pony hair with leather and colored hair calf combinations.
Textured leather: Treatments to leather include embossed, laser cuts, perforated. Leather apparel has a wide variety of textures, all-over cutouts and stamping. Accessories have perforated designs and buckles and details that are stamped on to create the illusion of these effects.
Suede: Full pants suits, leather trim skirts. The newness is in the application of contrasting materials.
Velvet: Updated in drape silhouettes and military structured designs.
Knits: Variety of patterns like shaggy and open-knit.
Menswear fabrics: Gingham, herringbone, plaids, checks, tweeds. The newness is in how they are incorporated into accessories by combining materials like wood and leather, patchwork clutches.
Tortoise: This trend is seen all in accessories where we see lather imitating tortoise and actual tortoise shells being used. The message is to slow down in the fast-pace high-tech world.
Plastic: New materials are being created with technological advances, recycled materials also being seen. Accessories focus on sleek plastic designs.
